Mighty Movers CBR#3 – Bubble Chase

Did you share Discovery Dig with your playgroup families and friends last week?

This week is Active Play #3 – Bubble Chase.  Find out why bubbles make a great active play idea for kids, why they’re good for baby tummy time and how to turn bubble fun into a running game to share with your families.

Physical Activity Project Officer (ACT) / Mighty Movers CBR

Mighty Movers is a project of the Bluearth Foundation, delivered in partnership with ACT Playgroups Association and supported by ACT Health. We hope it helps you and your families Move More, Sit Less.  You can follow Mighty Movers on Facebook and “Like” this idea there too. Or, if you’d like to join the Mighty Movers online program simply:

  • send an email to with the subject ‘Mighty Movers’, and
  • include your name and the age of your child/children.

Bluearth will send you a bit more information about the program, and then each week you’ll be sent an active play idea that’s easy to set-up at home or your playgroup – using items that can be found mostly around the home.

If you have any questions about the Mighty Movers program – please email Nicole on

Save the Date – PlayFEST is coming!

ACT Playgroups’ 17th annual PlayFEST, a festival of fun for young families, will be held again on Tuesday October 24, 2017 from 10am to 1pm. We expect a large number of families to join us for this great event and hope that you will be one of them! Please mark the date in your calendar now.

The event will feature lots of different activities for children from birth to 5 years of age, as well as many stall holders with information for young families. This event takes place rain or shine, although it may be slightly downsized if everyone needs to be moved inside, so lets all keep our fingers crossed for a beautiful spring day!

This last week invitations were issued to community groups, sporting organisations and businesses to attend. If the response is anything like last year there should be lots of information available to young families in Canberra and surrounds. If you have a business or group that caters to under fives, please drop us a line so we can send you an invitation too.

You can find more information about Playfest here, or by contacting ACT Playgroups.
