2017 Budget Submissions
ACT Playgroups entered two submissions to the the ACT Government’s 2017-18 Budget Consultation Process. The first submission asks that the ACT Government affirm the vital role that community playgroups play in the lives of young families in the ACT with a request for increased funding to support these playgroups.
It further requests:
- funds for a school-based playgroup trial
- a small amount of funding to work with the MaCH program to better support new parents, and
- requests that ACT Playgroups work with the Government’s new NDIS policy support unit to better assist and support parents/carers and families of children with additional needs.
You can read the whole submission here.
Read about the School-based trial at this link.
The second submission was around Grandparent’s Day. Most States in Australia celebrate generational family connection through a Grandparents’ Day or similar. Such an event allows the highlighting of the role that the senior generation play in the ongoing life and care of Canberran families and children. To this end, ACT Playgroups entered the Grandparents Day Budget Submission.
2016 ACT Election Submission
In the lead up to the ACT election on 15 October 2016, the ACT Playgroups Association asked all the registered candidates to support some recommendations on all things playgroup. Find out about our submission and the responses received, here.
