Community Playgroups are groups of parents or carers who get together with their under school aged children on a regular basis. They generally meet for a couple of hours per week and are usually filled with families who live locally. The majority of ACT Playgroups’ registered playgroups are community playgroups.

Community playgroups all run a little differently depending on the group dynamic. Most groups meet in a venue of some kind. All group members assist in the running of the group, organising activities, story time, singing etc, and with the set up and pack up, as well as the cleaning at the end of each session.

Some groups are very structured with a set routine each week, while others are completely unstructured, and yet others still fall somewhere in between! There is bound to be a playgroup to suit your style.
